Privacy
Last updated October 28, 2026.
This page explains what Day Off Books (“we”), collects through dayoffbooks.com and what we do with it. We collect as little as we can.
Release alerts
When you sign up for release alerts, we store:
- your email address;
- which alerts you chose (a series, or every release);
- the page you signed up on;
- the date and time you signed up and confirmed, with the IP address and browser details at each step.
We use your address only to send the alerts you asked for, plus the one email that confirms your sign-up. The sign-up and confirmation records exist to show that you asked for these emails and to stop abuse.
Every alert includes a one-click unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you and keep only a record that the address unsubscribed, so it isn’t emailed again by mistake.
Server logs
Like any website, our server records each request: the IP address, the page asked for, the referring page and the browser. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working and to count visits, and we delete them after 14 days.
What we don’t do
- We don’t set cookies or use advertising or analytics trackers.
- We don’t sell, rent or share your email address.
Links to Amazon
Our “Read on Kindle” and “Pre-order” buttons take you to Amazon. What happens there is covered by Amazon’s privacy notice, not this one.
Who handles your data
The site and the release-alert list run on our own server in the United States. Alert emails are sent through our email host, SiteGround. If we move release alerts to a dedicated email service, we’ll update this page first and move only confirmed subscribers.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe at any time from any alert. To see or delete what we hold about you, emailalerts@dayoffbooks.com and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
